State Representative Shae Sortwell, who was recently reelected into his position, is leading an investigation into the City of Green Bay regarding the way they conducted the recent election.
Sortwell is a member of the Assembly Campaigns and Elections Committee, and the investigation was called by Speaker Robin Voss.
“The Brown County Clerk’s office has raised some serious concerns on how the City of Green Bay has conducted recent elections in a seemingly highly-partisan fashion to the detriment of the democratic system,” Sortwell said in a news release. “The citizens of Wisconsin deserve to know what happened, and have a right to free, fair, and open elections.”
The investigation will focus not only on the November 3rd election but also on the primary which took place on April 7th.
