In a speech on Tuesday, Governor Tony Evers issued an Executive Order where he asked citizens to limit the number of times you leave your home.
The Order has raised the ire of many people, including Assemblyman Paul Tittl of Manitowoc.
“He suggested what people are doing anyhow,” Tittl told SeehaferNews.com. “They’re not going to events, wearing masks, and social distancing. It was not an Executive Order. I call it an Executive Suggestion because there’s really no meat to it, no teeth to it.”
The Executive Order did not require any action by the public, but rather urged people to take more precautions.
Tittl also voiced his displeasure in Governor Evers’ unwillingness to work with Republicans on fixing the COVID-19 issue.
“I’m very disheartened that he won’t even get together with leadership,” the 25th Assembly District Representative stated. “We don’t have a dictatorship, we have an elected body and we are supposed to work together. 94% of the bills we pass are bipartisan, so we do work together, but for this, for some odd reason, he is not wanting to meet with our leadership on this, and work on a solution to lower the [COVID-19] number in Wisconsin. I am baffled by that.”
A total of over 301,000 total cases have been confirmed in the state, with 2,562 people dying due to complications brought on by the virus.
