
It was another case of good news/bad news yesterday in the Manitowoc County COVID-19 Update.
First for the bad news, 73 news cases were reported by the health department, brining the pandemic total up to 3,674.
However, in some good news, 84 more people were listed as recovered. That record high number brings the total number of recoveries up to 1,758. No new deaths were reported, which means there are still 1,895 active cases, and 21 deaths.
Also reported were 157 negative tests, raising that total to 21,143.
The Health Department has also added a few new statistics to their report, including hospitalization rates. 200 people are currently in the ICU seeking treatment for the virus, which means that 85% of all beds are in use.
They also broke down the deaths in the County. 5 of the people who died due to complications brought on by the coronavirus were under the age of 75, five were between 76 and 85-years-old, and the remaining 8 were over the age of 86.
Also, it was noted that 11 of the deaths came out of the city of Manitowoc while the remaining 10 were from other cities and towns.
Meanwhile in Sheboygan County, the Division of Public Health reported an additional 214 cases yesterday.
An additional 10 deaths were reported as well, bringing their death toll up to 42.
73 people were also listed as recovered, and 214 tests came back negative, leaving their pandemic totals at 6,336 cases, 2,078 of which remain active, 4,216 recoveries, and 32,632 negative tests.
