A 21-year-old woman called the Manitowoc Police Tuesday morning to report a domestic violence situation, however, she was the one that ended up in handcuffs.
Officers were sent to Aurora Medical Center on Memorial Drive just before 9:00 AM and were told a woman was on her way there with injuries she allegedly received from a fight with her boyfriend.
She claimed the man had thrown a glass smoking device, which shattered, and shards of the glass entered her hand.
The man had left the scene on foot and returned shortly after to speak with the officers.
He explained that they had gotten into an argument that morning and that she would not let him leave the residence to go to work. He said the woman had tackled him, but he was able to eventually start walking to work.
A text message sent to his boss confirmed his story, so the woman was arrested on charges of Disorderly Conduct with a Domestic Violence Order, and two counts of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
