
The cooler weather of fall means different things to different people. For some it means football season is here. For others it brings up Thanksgiving and Halloween memories. But for thousands of Wisconsinites, deer hunting is the first thing that come to mind.
While the tradition of deer hunting is enjoyed by so many, it is always important to remember to be as safe as possible while searching for the proverbial 30 pointer.
The DNR is asking hunters to double check their deer stands and ensure that they are structurally sound before climbing into them. They also encourage hunters to utilize a harness to make sure you do not fall out of the stand.
Over 600,000 hunters are expected to participate in the nine-day gun hunt this year.
