The pandemic has lead to many different groups having to change the way they perform task at their jobs, and the police departments are no different.
In Green Bay, officers have had to adjust the way the collect and store evidence in homicide cases that have been contaminated with COVID-19. A homicide victim back in September tested positive for the virus, which made the officers involved all get tested as well. As far as evidence collecting in that case was concerned, there was concerns with putting the evidence in the standard plastic collection bag, but studies determined that was still safe. However in an abundance of caution, officials let the evidence dry in the open air in a special facility.
Over time investigators were able to handle it and store it with no additional concern.
