
The Manitowoc Police Department is currently investigating a shooting incident which occurred on Wednesday near the downtown area.
According to a report from Detective Sargent Mike Stone, officers were called to the 700 block of South 24th Street at around 8:40 PM on Wednesday on the report of shots fired.
Shortly after arriving on the scene, investigators received information that an 18 year old Sheboygan man was at a local hospital with a gunshot wound. The victim received non-life threatening injuries.
Witnesses reported that two male suspects, one shorter white male in his late teens, and the other a 6 foot tall black male with short dread locks in his late teens, approached the car the victim was in and took an item from the victim. The suspects took off running and when the victim ran after them, shots were fired by the suspects, with one round striking the victim.
