Every year around Christmas time, the Manitowoc Police Department teams up with the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office to put on the Shop with a Cop event.
That is no different this year, however instead of pair up officers with children from families in need, the local law enforcement entities will be adopting families provided by Big Brothers/Big Sisters and shopping for each household member of that family.
In order to pay for the gifts, the MPTD is asking for donation. The average cost to their program per family is approximately $150 and they are aiming to adopt 25-30 families this year.
If you are interested in donating money for this year’s event, you can drop off donations at the Manitowoc Police Department, located at 910 Jay Street.
If paying by check, you are asked to make the checks out to “MPPA Shop with a Cop”.
