Wisconsin state champions won’t be crowned in high school football this fall – but, there will be postseason competition.
The W-I-A-A will put teams in regional pods of eight within their division, then schedule match ups based on competition levels for two additional weeks of play.
A regular-season starting September 7th gave teams conference championships to fight for, but with the end play scheduled for November 20th, the season became too condensed to allow for the usual playoffs.
There wasn’t enough time for the usual five rounds of playoffs before winter sports start November 23rd.
