The polls opened at 7am and already in the City of Manitowoc, voter turnout has been heavy. A total of 56.3% of registered voters in the City have cast ballots through in-person early voting at City Hall or by Absentee ballot.
While absentee ballot voting has been strong, Deborah Neuser, Manitowoc City Clerk says there are some absentee ballots out there.
“We also had around 500 absentee ballots not returned,” Nueser told SeehaferNews.com. “I do know that a lot of those folks have decided to go to the polls on election day, which they can do as longs as they haven’t returned their ballot, placed it in a drop box or in the US Mail.”
If you are holding one of those absentee ballots, Nueser says you can make your vote count by dropping it in the drop box outside City Hall on the Southwest corner.
All in person polling places will remain open until 8pm this evening.
