
Manitowoc Lutheran High School runner Brooklyn Luebke captured the girls individual gold medal Saturday at the WIAA Division-3 State Girls Cross Country Run at West Salem.
Luebke, who is a Junior for the lancers, covered the 5-kilometer course in 18:55:53. She finished 4th at state last Fall. The Lutheran Boys placed 6th in their competition led by Spencer Streich who was 22nd overall. Sheboygan Lutheran won the D-3 boys team title.
In the Division-2 Cross Country Championships at Colby, Kiel and Valders placed 2nd & 4th respectively in a meet won by Aquinas. Hunter Krepline of Brillion paced was 2nd overall, Shane Griepentrog of the Vikings was 6th, teammate Clay Taylor 17th. Ethan Vander Meer & Noah Watson finished 26th & 29th for Kiel.
In the D-2 State Girls Run, Two Rivers wound up in 5th place, after the Raiders posted the 2nd & 3rd top runners in Mikaela Helling and Anna Gallagher. Individually, Kiel’s Zoe Watson finished 18th
