K9 Major was in action last night as he helped the Manitowoc Police Department arrest a suspect for drug paraphernalia possession.
Officers were monitoring a suspected drug home on the south side of the city at around 12:30 PM yesterday afternoon, when they saw what appeared to be a drug deal taking place.
They noted a man talking to a woman through the window, after he had gone in and out of the residence multiple times. The man eventually got into the vehicle, and when officers attempted to pull them over, the vehicle took off at a high rat of speed on Riverview Drive.
The vehicle stopped at a home in the 400 block of South 26th Street, and the 21-year-old female exited and fled to the back yard.
When confronted the woman stopped, and K9 Major was called to perform a sniff of the vehicle. He returned a positive hit, and officers found several items of drug paraphernalia.
The woman has been charged with Obstructing an Officer, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and 5 counts of Felony Bail Jumping.
The man was also arrested, but there were no details about the charges he is facing.
