Redshirt freshman Graham Mertz is hauling in the Big Ten Conference football awards while waiting for his COVID-19 test results.
If a second test for the virus is positive, he may be sidelined for the next three weeks.
The conference announced Monday Mertz was chosen as Big Ten Freshman of the Week and Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week. He set a school record by completing 95.2 percent of his passes in the 45-7 pasting of Illinois in the season opener. He also tied a school record with 17 straight pass completions.
