Manitowoc Lutheran did well in the cross-country sub sectional hosted by Sheboygan Lutheran yesterday.
The Lancer boys took second place, while the girls finished fourth. The boys were led by Spencer Streich, who took fifth place with a time of 17:30. Ben Thomas was 11th. For the girls, Brooklyn Luebke won the meet with a time of 19:11, a school record. That qualified her as an individual for the Sectionals. Paige Zirbel was 13th.
Lutheran will host the Division 3 sectionals at Meadow Links Saturday morning.
Meanwhile in the D-2 5A sub sectional, the Two Rivers Girls Team won the meet with 25 points and advance to the sectional meet at Kettle Moraine Lutheran on Friday afternoon. TR was paced by Anna Gallagher first with a time of 18:25. Valders girls placed 3rd as a team, although they had 4 girls in the top 5 individual group.
On the boy’s side of things, Valders earned a team win with 21 points, paced by Shane Geripentrog’s first place finish in a time of 16:02. Clay Taylor meanwhile finished 2nd.
On the opposite side of D2-5B sub sectional at Kiel host Kiel has their Boys team advancing led by Ethan Vander Meer who placed 3rd in 17:10, Travis Kohlman 5th and Noah Watson 7th, Pierce Arenz was 8th and Hunter Westermeyer 12th, Kewaskum is the second place team to advance to the 4 team sectional final on Friday at KML.
On the Girls side it was Kewaskum first and Oostburg second as teams going to KML with Kiel girls third, with 3 of the Kiel girls advancing as individuals. Zoe Watson was 5th in 20:32, Jocelyn Aprill 7th and Ellie Mueller 9th.
