An inmate in the Outagamie County Jail died over the weekend from what was termed a medical emergency.
Reports indicate that the 61-year-old male had only been incarcerated since June 26th on charges of burglary, criminal damage to property and theft.
A correctional officer noticed the man was “in medical distress” at 10:30 PM on Friday, and medical staff was immediately called in to perform lifesaving measures. The man was rushed to a local hospital where he died the following day.
Officials say that there is no indication that the man died from complications brought on by COVID-19.
