Attorneys for the State of Illinois and accused Kenosha shooter Kyle Rittenhouse have filed briefs for an extradition hearing.
Prosecutors in Lake County, Illinois are disputing the reasons given by the teenager’s lawyers for keeping him in Illinois. Rittenhouse is accused of shooting two protesters to death and wounding a third on August 25th. His attorneys allege extradition would be like turning him over to a mob. Rittenhouse is being held without bond at the Minard E. Hulse Juvenile Detention Center near Vernon Hills, Illinois.
His extradition hearing is now set for October 30th.
