An organization that takes pride in helping people following a grim diagnosis of cancer is having a major fundraiser in these stressful COVID-19 times.
Brian Rasmussen, a spokesman for Pink Heals is co-chair of a virtual 5K/10K Run Walk Event. He says, “Given the current pandemic they’re looking for support from the community during the Month of October. You can sign up by going to pinkheals.us.”
Competitors have 30 days to complete the Run/Walk. Rasmussen explains they support cancer patients and their families both financially and emotionally. “We help anyone who is battling cancer in Manitowoc County and the thing I like to promote is that 100% of the money we receive is kept locally. And, all of our volunteers are not paid.”
They also have a Facebook auction and Themed Costume Contest between October 22nd & 29th.
To sign up, just go to: pinkheals.us and fill out the application form.
Earlier this week, Seehafer Broadcasting’s Lee Douglas hosted a radio auction for an autographed calendar of Collector John Deere Tractors, donated by WBAY-Channel-2 News anchor Bill Jartz. The calendar went for $300.00 and the highest bid was from a local gentleman in memory of his late wife.
