Planned upgrades to the Wisconsin Electronic Disease Surveillance System may limit the Manitowoc County Health Department’s ability to report COVID-19 numbers this Saturday thru Monday.
Emergency Services Director Travis Waack says WEDSS is the Computer System used by local health Departments across the state to report test results, patient information and close contacts for a wide range of communicable diseases including COVID-19.
Waack adds these upgrades will “provide critical enhancements needed by Public Health Departments statewide to continue responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.”
No data will be lost and a report showing the accumulated totals from missed reporting days will be issued once reporting features are back on-line which is anticipated to be Tuesday October 20th.
