The Manitowoc County COVID-19 taskforce has unanimously agreed to suspend in-person court appearances, with few and very specific exceptions.
According to information from Clerk of Courts Lynn Zigmunt, no jury trials will be held but court remains open and in session. All scheduled hearings will be conducted by video conferencing, telephone or other remote means.
Anyone wanting to observe any matter which is open to the public is encouraged to contact the Clerk of Court’s office at 683-4030 for information about how to access the remote hearing.
Zigmunt explains the portion of a June, 2020 order requiring the use of face-coverings, social distancing and sanitizing measures remains in effect and the courthouse is open.
