Vice President Mike Pence didn’t mention his name, but he took some verbal jabs at Milwaukee’s mayor while talking about law and order at a campaign stop in Waukesha Tuesday.
Pence said it’s no surprise homicides are way up in Milwaukee while the Democratic mayor has called for cutting 120 police officers.
Mayor Tom Barrett announced the cuts as part of his 2021 budget proposal.
Barrett told the media outlets that the vice president’s comment was a “cheap shot,” saying the Trump campaign is desperate right now and it is “just flailing at anyone.”
Pence appeared at Weldall Manufacturing.
