The Eastern Wisconsin Conference Cross Country Meet was held yesterday at Deer Run Golf Course in Brillion and the Valders Boys were crowned champions.
Coach Bill Dietrich’s harriers took the title with 39-points, led by runnerup finisher Shane Griepentrog and 3rd place runner Clay Taylor. The individual medalist was Brillion’s Hunter Krepline in 16-minutes.
Kiel was 2nd as a team with 48-points, paced by Noah Watson in 5th place, Roncalli finished 5th led by Brayden Yanda, 16th overall and Two Rivers ended up 6th with Zach Fries #15.
In the Girls race, Two Rivers won the EWC title beating Kiel 25-41. The meet medalist was TR’s Mikaela Henning in 18:40, with teammate Anna Gallagher runnerup. Kiel’s Zoey Watson was 3rd, Avery Kauth of Valders finished 9th, Jena Garceau ran to a 16 place finish, leading Roncalli to 6th in the standings.
At Hilbert last night, the 6-team Big East North Division cross country meet saw Manitowoc Lutheran wind up 2nd behind boy’s team champion St. Mary Catholic. Spencer Streich finished 3rd for 1st team all-conference.
The individual champion in the girl’s race was the Lancers’ Brooklyn Luebke as she led her team to a 3rd place finish in the meet.
