Wauwatosa Police Chief Barry Weber says he sees no reason to fire his police officer.
Joseph Mensah was cleared last week by the Milwaukee County prosecutor in the fatal shooting of a teenager last winter.
17-year-old Alvin Cole was the third period Mensah shot to death in the line of duty over the last five years.
Independent investigator Steven Biskupic has recommended the firing of the officer, saying the risk was too great that Mensah would fatally shoot someone else.
Chief Weber disagrees, saying you can’t fire someone based on what they might do in the future.
