Speculation is growing that the Wisconsin Badgers might host a multi-team basketball event at the Kohl Center when the season finally gets underway.
No official notice has been given about any plans.
The Iowa Hawkeyes are hosting their own event involving Southern, South Dakota, and North Carolina Central.
The Badgers could decide on an in-state gathering involving U-W-Milwaukee, Marquette, and U-W-Green Bay. More likely is a four-team weekender involving programs like Virginia, Richmond, Northern Iowa, or Oregon.
All those teams are mentioned in a C-B-S Sports report that is total speculation.
Although a lot of observers would like to see something like that in Madison, there has been no official word from the Badgers.
