A high school football player from the Tri-Op of Kohler/Sheboygan Lutheran/Christian broke the state’s single game receiving record Friday night in a dramatic finish.
Colin Girdaukus finished off his team’s 51-50 victory over New Holstein on a 74-yard scoring reception with no time showing on the clock. The extra point gave KLC the win and kept them unbeaten.
Girdaukus wound up with 339 yards on 7-receptions, three of them touchdowns to eclipse the previous record of 331 yards set by Spooner’s Tanner Vik in 2013.
KLC quarterback Robby Michael moved into 3rd place on Wisconsin’s single-game passing list with 579 yards, by going 24-36 with 4 TD’S.
