A driver who was unlicensed when he caused a fatal crash in Dodge County has been handed a 10-year prison sentence.
Crash investigators say the vehicle 49-year-old Robert Underwood was driving in September 2017 crossed the centerline and hit a second car.
One person was killed and another suffered serious injuries.
Police say Underwood’s license had been suspended four months earlier when he was caught speeding 25 miles-an-hour over the posted limit.
Prosecutors pointed to his lengthy criminal history which started when he was 18 years old.
He had served federal time for running a drug distribution ring and was involved in three injury accidents over a period of less than two-and-a-half years.
