Wisconsin Badgers head football coach Paul Chryst says his starting quarterback will soon be evaluated by a foot specialist.
Senior Jack Coan suffered an injury Saturday during a non-contact drill, however Chryst won’t confirm that Coan is going to have surgery and he says he doesn’t know how long Coan will be out.
Redshirt freshman Graham Mertz has been working with the first-team offense after serving as Coan’s backup last season. Sophomore Chase Wolf and junior Danny Vanden Boom could also take snaps.
Coan was entering his second season as the Badgers’ starter at quarterback after leading his team to a Big Ten West Division title and a Rose Bowl appearance.
