A 40-year-old New Holstein man entered a plea of “not guilty” Thursday afternoon in Manitowoc County Circuit Court in the stabbing death of a 32-year-old Manitowoc man this summer.
Craig Holtz is charged with First Degree Intentional Homicide for a purported drug deal that “went bad.” Police were dispatched to a Marshall Street residence the night of August 20th for a complaint of a man being stabbed. Upon arrival they located the victim collapsed outside a residence who was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Meanwhile, Holtz fled the scene and was taken into custody the night in question at a north side Manitowoc residence. He remains in the County Jail on a $500,000 cash bond.
A Settlement Conference with the District Attorney’s Office is scheduled for November 20th at 9 a.m. and a “scheduling conference” is set for December 11th at 2:15 p.m.
