
The identity of the man who allegedly killed two people and stabbed an officer Monday night has been released.
Five charges have been filed against 28-year-old Oscar Lemus-Franco, including First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety (Use of a Dangerous Weapon), Mayhem (Use of a Dangerous Weapon), Battery to a Law Enforcement Officer (Use of a Dangerous Weapon), Knowingly Flee/Elude or Attempt to Flee/Elude an Officer, and Obstructing an Officer.
Charges related to the homicides are yet to be filed as the investigation continues. Lemus-Franco allegedly shot two people at around 8:30 PM on Clement Street, near University Avenue.
He fled the scene before officers arrived and was spotted in his vehicle later that night thanks to a tip from a relative.
Lemus-Franco lead officers on a short chase before stopping, exiting his vehicle and stabbing an officer in the face. The officer is expected to be okay.
