
Bail is set at $500 cash for a 50-year-old Manitowoc man facing multiple charges for allegedly beating his daughter’s friend and pushing her down the stairs of a south side residence.
Brett M. Hill is charged with Battery-Resisting or Obstructing an Officer Carrying a Concealed Knife- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and two counts of Possession of Methamphetamine.
Officers responded to a call Wednesday night about a fight in the 900 block of South 18th Street. They learned that a female friend of Hill’s daughter gave him some jewelry to clean and discovered it was not all returned to her. Hill denied the allegation despite the victim seeing it on his bedroom floor. A verbal altercation ensued with Hill allegedly striking the female and pushing her downstairs, where she suffered undisclosed injuries requiring medical attention. Hill fled the scene and was eventually taken into custody without incident. Drug charges stem from evidence collected on scene that included drug paraphernalia.
Conditions of bail are that Hill have “no contact” with the victim and maintain absolute sobriety. He remains in the County Jail with an initial appearance scheduled for October 5that 1:30pm.
