The Minnesota Twins now have the longest playoff losing streak in America’s four major professional sports.
The Twins 4-1 setback to the Astros in the Wild Card opener at Target Field Tuesday was their 17th straight defeat. The team says its 17 consecutive postseason loss breaks a tie with the 1975-76 Chicago Blackhawks.
For first time this COVID-shortened season there were some fans in the ballpark.
The socially-distanced crowd of less than 250 people was Twins employees and family members of both teams.
Minnesota will try to snap the record skid in Game Two this afternoon (Wednesday 12 p-m).
