University of Wisconsin health officials say now is the time to get your flu shot.
UW-Health Doctor James Conway says they’re recommending getting vaccinated earlier so hospitals aren’t dealing with two different chest infections.
Conway says influenza and the coronavirus start out with similar symptoms including cough, fever, headaches and muscle aches.
Conway says the more they can eliminate the flu from the equation, the more they can focus on patients recovering from COVID-19.
Experts say this year’s vaccine should be more effective than other years.
