October is National Co-op Month and Manitowoc County’s emerging food cooperative is participating in some month-long activities.
‘Clipper City Co-op’ is zeroing in on a location in downtown Manitowoc as a central spot for the cooperative food hub. Organizers have narrowed the search and are working through lease negotiations to find the ideal site for the needs of the community and long-term sustainability. The exact location is expected to be announced in the very-near future. The co-op will highlight fresh, quality foods from local farmers and producers.
In an effort to raise awareness, the entire community is invited to be a part of the planned calendar of events: A Facebook Live Kick-off on Thursday (October 1st) at noon, an Owner Referral Special, a Co-op Panera Bread Fundraiser on October 13th, Pear up and Jam with the Co-op event October 10th & ‘24th, Launch of the Capital Campaign, an Owner Zoom Event and Tour-Our-Town.
