Walkers and teams from across the lakeshore area Saturday helped raise thousands of dollars to fight Alzheimer’s Disease.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, participants in this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Manitowoc-Two Rivers walked as individuals & small groups on sidewalks, tracks & trails across Manitowoc to ensure the health & safety for all involved.
The walk, chaired by Connie Thimmig, Director of Enrichment Services at Felician Village, is projected to generate almost $15,000 to fund research & local services including support groups, education, information & referral services, care & support efforts along with a 24/7 Helpline (800-272-3900).
The pandemic continues to create substantial challenges for people living with dementia, their families and care givers.
So, donations are needed more than ever. Donations can still be made to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s through December 31st at act.alz.org/wisconsin.
Mail-in donations should be directed to their regional mail-processing hub:
