Former Vice President Joe Biden was at the Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry in Manitowoc yesterday afternoon, a stop which brought out hundreds of people both in support of the Democratic Presidential Nominee and in opposition to him.
One person who was there showing her support was former Manitowoc County Coroner Marion Cumming.
When asked why she supports Biden, she said, “Because we need to get rid of Donald Trump for sure. There are so many good Democrats, and now that he has picked Kamala Harris, it’s even better, because she brings a whole new dimension of thought and experience with her for the Democrats to capitalize on.”
We also spoke with a young man who showed up to show support to President Donald Trump.
Brayden Schultz was there with his mother and grandmother, and he explained that he supports the President because he “supplied more jobs for everyone and is trying to help everyone through COVID-19.” He also told SeehaferNews.com that it was important to him to be there so he could stand out and try to make a difference.
While the afternoon started kind and peaceful, as more and more people showed up, tempers began to flare. People on both sides were arguing loudly with their opposition, with some obscenities being yelled.
Manitowoc’s 7th District Alderman Aaron Bailey was on hand and he did not approve of that kind of behavior. “We have teenagers here acting like adults,” he said as he gestured to a group of students from Manitowoc Lincoln High School. “We don’t need adults acting like teenagers.”
When Biden arrived, he did not make an appearance in front of the crowd. No word on if any arrests were made, or if any violence broke out.
