The Manitowoc community came together on Sunday for a fundraiser to help out a local family whose husband and father suffered a brain aneurysm last month, but, is on the road to recovery.
The Wharf hosted the benefit for Bruce Lukes that included food sales, basket raffles, a silent auction, and golf earlier Sunday at Meadow Links. All to help the Lukes family with medical bills.
Rob and Denise Roseff and Jim and Sue DuPont organized the fundraiser in a relatively short amount of time.
Rob tells SeehaferNews.com, that Lukes was in the hospital for over a month, but is “doing very well, and is back at home. He is going to have a long road ahead of him to recover from this aneurysm.”
Bruce’s wife, Lindy, was overwhelmed by the support. “There has been such a wonderful outpour of that,” she said. “So many people have contacted us during this whole process.”
Bruce Lukes is expected to have a full recovery from his ordeal and the family also thanked Brennan Seehafer and the Wharf for hosting Sunday’s special event.
