A 29-year-old Manitowoc man is facing a litany of charges after an incident Friday night.
An officer was flagged down by a woman in the 1100 block of South 26th Street at around 10:15pm Friday night claiming she was attacked by her boyfriend.
She said the two had gotten into an argument, and he responded by grabbing her around the throat and squeezing. The victim said the man threatened to kill her and her dogs and take her children. The dogs saw the attack happen and became aggressive toward the man, causing him to let go.
The suspect was still in the home, and when officers attempted to put him into handcuffs, he tensed up and attempted to kick an officer. He continued to resist and berate officers after being slammed to the ground and threatened to kill and rape the officers.
They were eventually able to bring him to the jail, and the man continued to be violent and verbal toward jail employees.
The man has a history of being violent toward law enforcement, including several convictions from 2013 and 2014.
He has been charged with Strangulation, Threats to LEO or an Officer of the Court, Battery, Criminal Damage to Property, Resisting an Officer, Misdemeanor Bail Jumping and Disorderly Conduct.
