A Manitowoc man was arrested yesterday afternoon after he berated police and claimed that only God owns land.
A pair of Manitowoc Police Officers were conducting a park check at Washington Park at around 4:30 PM, when then noticed the 20-year-old man, and another man under the shelter near the bathrooms.
The officers recognized the men from previous contacts and knew they had been banned from city parks. When the officers approached the men, the 20-year-old began yelling at them, using profane language, and said that they could not tell “his spirit where to move through space” and that they do not own the land.
The man also yelled the derogatory term for black people at the officers.
A search of his backpack uncovered residue in a baggie from what was determined to be Methamphetamine, a bottle of vodka, and seeds that are believed to be for a marijuana plant.
The man is now facing charges of Disorderly Conduct, Possessing Drug Paraphernalia, and four counts of Bail Jumping, three felony and one misdemeanor.
