Despite the number of new COVID-19 cases breaking records in Manitowoc County over the week, Emergency Services Director Travis Waack says the 10 hospitals in the Northeast Wisconsin Region are doing rather well.
“We have 44 hospitalized patients with COVID-19, 12 of those patients are in the ICU,” Waack explained. “That is a jump of about 10 patients in the hospital over the past week, but capacity still looks good with 43 ICU beds immediately available.”
The hospitals in the region have been handling the COVID pandemic rather well and have never been overstuffed.
