Bail is set to $3000 recognizance bond for a 23-year-old man facing multiple charges after being taken into custody on Manitowoc’s southside Tuesday night. Requane Stevens is charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia-carrying a concealed knife and four counts of bail jumping.
A Manitowoc police officer saw Stevens -wanted on warrants for his arrest- walking on Washington Street. Stevens was located in the Tobacco Outlet where the officer noticed him carrying a folding knife in his pocket. The officer drew his weapon with Stevens complying with orders to put his hands in the air. A subsequent search found the suspect to have been carrying methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia on his person and Stevens was taken into custody without incident.
Conditions of bail are that he not possess any weapons and maintain absolute sobriety. Stevens remains in the County Jail on a probation hold with his initial appearance scheduled for October 5th at 1:30pm.
