The City of Appleton is pressing on with their plans to build a new library.
The current library, located at 225 North Oneida Street, is owned by the City, and would either be improved upon, or completely replaced.
The Office of Mayor Jake Woodford says that using that property would save on money and would eliminate the headaches that come with buying a new site. Another reason for using the same site is to make it a focal point for neighborhood revitalization efforts.
The mayor said planning will resume next year based on results of previous studies and community input.
Planning began back in 2017 and 2018 but was put on hold in 2020 for obvious reasons.
