A fire yesterday afternoon in Appleton has left two people homeless.
According to reports from the Appleton Fire Department, crews were called to the apartment in the 1200 block of East Gunn Street at around 4:30 PM, and saw smoke and flames emitting from the second-floor unit.
Crews began to battle the blaze, and also rescued a feline that was stuck inside the apartment. No injuries were reported; however, the unit is now unlivable.
The two residents are being helped by the Red Cross in the meantime.
There is no damage estimate available at this time, and the cause is still under investigation.
