The recruit was identified as 29-year-old Private Michael Wise from Kewauskum.

While the details are scarce at the moment, it is being reported that a soldier attending basic training at Fort Jackson in South Carolina is dead.
The identity of that trainee has not been released, but we do know the 29-year-old hailed from Wisconsin.
The recruit was found dead Saturday morning, and the cause of his death is under investigation.
Officials said that it was not related to COVID-19 or to an active field training exercise.
