Discussing politics ahead of the November election can prove to be very divisive among family and friends. For a Christian understanding of how to deal with others in this super-charged political environment, SeehaferNews.com contacted Father David Beaudry, pastor of St. Thomas the Apostle parish in Newton.
The words Father Beaudry uses are respect and deep listening. “There is going to be disagreement,” he admitted. “But that’s the beauty of democracy…but there is so much now that divides us.” Beaudry who earned a Master’s Degree in Theology from Catholic University in Washington D.C. has been a priest in the Green Bay Diocese for about 40 years. The Green Bay native tells us “we’re all made in the Christian image and likeness of God”, so when speaking with others, remember to give them the courtesy and respect to listen to them.
Father Beaudry has just begun a new role as Director of Mission & Discipleship with the Roncalli Catholic Schools.
