The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has granted Sheboygan’s Shoreline Metro $2.76 million as a part of their Public Transportation Grant.
Seven other cities received money from that $18 million fund, which is a part of the second round of Wisconsin’s Transit Capital Assistance Grants.
The grant was made possible after a settlement was reached with Volkswagon after they admitted to cheating on their emissions tests.
Shoreline Metro has stated that they will use the money to purchase six buses.
