Two prominent properties in the City of Two Rivers were the focus of a closed session by council members Tuesday night.
City Manager Greg Buckley tells SeehaferNews.com he reported back to the council on a phone conference last week with representatives of Thermal Fisher, regarding the city’s negotiations to purchase the former Hamilton property.
He stated, “that’s coming along but there are still some issues to work through.”
The other discussion dealt with marketing of the former Paragon building and he told us some interest has been expressed in the property. But no action was taken on reconvening in open session & there’s not a lot more he can report on right now.
The Council also approved an ordinance, changing the location of the south side polling place for voters in wards 7 and 8. City Manager Greg Buckley explained to SeehaferNews.com, “They have historically voted at Koenig Elementary School. Effective with the November election, they will be moved to the Berringer Room at the J.E. Hamilton Community House.”
The school district has made space available for many years, but with COVID-19 concerns, Buckley said there was a strong desire to get the polling place relocated away from Koenig.
The city clerk will be getting a mailed notice out to all registered voters in those wards.
