For many people, the cost of returning to school can be a financial burden, but a Manitowoc woman is going to make things a little easier for local families.
Arlanda Ross took it upon herself to put together a little event this Saturday, which will be taking place at Washington Park in Manitowoc giving out 100 free bags filled with school supplies.
The event will take place from noon to 2:00 PM.
Ross told SeehaferNews.com that she decided to do this because “Not everybody is able to afford school supplies” and because she loves kids, including the three she has.
As parents of children in school can attest to, school supplies can be rather expensive, so she got help from some private donators, and funds from friends.
Ross said that the planning of the event went rather smooth, and she wants to do more in the future for children in the area.
