Dane County Executive Joe Parisi says U-W students need to be sent home and classes should be switched to online only.
Parisi blames the university for a dramatic spike in new COVID-19 cases in the county.
Nearly three out of every four people who have tested positive in September have some link to the campus.
Parisi says positive test results in Dane County this month are at least “five times what they were in late August.”
He thinks the students should return to their hometowns, then quarantine there for at least two weeks to protect their neighbors.
