A Green Bay man goes on trial next month facing first-degree intentional homicide charges, with a domestic abuse modifier.
James Prokopovitz reported his wife Victoria had gone missing in April 2013. He told authorities she suffered from depression and he was afraid she had taken her own life.
Just weeks later he was in a romantic relationship with a former girlfriend.
Investigators say he changed his story several times, especially when they pointed out inconsistencies.
The now 75-year-old Prokopovitz reportedly told family members that she “is never coming back” and that the investigators were “wasting their time” searching for her.
Jury selection is set for October 9th, with a two-week trial starting October 12th.
