Routine maintenance on sirens located within ten miles of the Point Beach Nuclear Plant has been postponed.
The work was originally scheduled for this week, but according to Manitowoc county Emergency Services Director Travis Waack, staffing issues with the vendor have delayed the project until the week of September 21st.
During the testing, residents may hear actual siren activations for approximately one to three minutes and notice activity going on or around the siren sites.
If members of the public are unsure whether or not the activities may be related to the maintenance, call (920) 683-4201 for verification.
