We have received some additional information regarding the accident on Lakeside Boulevard late last week.
According to Lt. Mark Schroeder, a 32-year-old Two Rivers man was traveling east on Manitou Street at around 3:00 AM last Friday at a high rate of speed when he hit a utility pole, several concrete posts, and busted through the cabling.
His airbags were deployed before he came to rest at the bottom of the cliff. The man reportedly left the scene of the accident and was located by police the next day.
The unnamed man received what were termed minor injuries and is facing charges of Inattentive Driving and Driving Without Insurance.
Lt. Schroeder did not specify if alcohol or drugs are suspected in the accident.
